Opening event Friday, 9/16 - 6 to 9pm
Gallery Hours 9/17 & 9/18 - 10am-4pm

Albo Jeavons' large-format digital prints continue his multi-media explorations of the legal fiction of the Corporate Person and it's roll as a Monster/God in contemporary global society.

"A spectre haunts the planet. It walks among us in a suit and tie; insatiably hungry, and amoral by design. It is a tool, and a weapon; a puppet, and an avatar of a self-destructive, emergent psychopathology. Every corporation is, according to Western laws that have spread like a virus to infect societies all over the world, a Legal Person, just like you and me. These imaginary People, these unholy ghosts, are the next evolutionary step beyond the armies and the religions and the states and the angry mobs with torches whose functions they now augment and manipulate in service of the great gods Profit and Power. "Invisible people who rule us from afar with powers far beyond those of ordinary mortals? Hmm - sounds familiar. Much of the artwork that I've produced over the last 15 years has been based on a simple question: if corporations are people then what do their bodies look like? I like to use mocking humor and grotesquery to disarm and deflate: to make corporations creepy. Michelangelo's hilarious, sublime, subversive Sistine Chapel frescoes are amazing source material to explore and to reimagine, and we are, I think, on some weird level dealing with similar issues, at least part of the time...

Take a look; explore, enjoy, and let me know what you think."
